Choosing Your Disposable 3-Ply Mask: A Closer Look 3-Ply Masks For Medical, Civil

Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, safety remains everyone’s concern but so does choosing the right disposable 3-ply mask to wear. Thanks to HEALEECARE,  you can make an informed decision on which ASTM-rated mask will help protect you, your child, and those heathcare professionals working on the frontlines.

Selecting a disposable 3-ply mask to purchase and wear in everyday use for yourself, your child, or for those in the medical field is made easy through the help of HEALEECARE. Not only does the leading global medical supplies company offer a wide variety of 3-ply masks, but CovCare also breaks down mask performance levels to provide customers a better understanding of how to best offer protection.

According to the ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials), a wide range of consensus standards are developed and used globally across industries for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocol.. The standards created by ASTM are designed to enhance safety and improve the quality of consumer and industrial products. Understanding these face mask performance levels simplifies the selection process to ensure your mask will provide the right protection to minimize the spread of potentially infectious diseases.

When you hear someone referring to "Level 1" or "Level 2" masks, they are referring to the ASTM standards which are based on five terms: BFE, PFE, fluid resistance, breathability (Delta P), and flame spread...

BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency): percentage of aerosol particles filtered at a size of 3 microns. Measures the efficiency of the mask in filtering bacteria passing through it.

PFE (sub-micron Particulate Filtration Efficiency): percentage of sub-micron particles filtered at 0.1 microns. Measures the efficiency of the mask in filtering particles passing through it.

Fluid Resistance: The higher the fluid resistance (filtration), the better the protection.Fluid Resistance represents the mask’s resistance to penetration by synthetic blood under pressure (mmHg). Measures ability of a mask’s material construction to minimize fluids from traveling through the material and potentially coming into contact with the wearer.

Delta P (Differential Pressure): Essentially, this determines the breathability. Delta P represents the pressure drop across the mask or resistance to air flow in mmH2O/cm2 . The higher the Delta P, the less the breathability, but the better the filtration.

Flame Spread: Ranking derived by laboratory standard test methodology of a material’s propensity to burn rapidly and spread flames.

The 3-ply disposable surgical masks carried by HEALEECARE offer premium-quality, are FDA registered and CE certified, and provide 95% filter of airborne particles for everyday use, for kids (CovCare Kids 3-ply disposable masks are Level 1 and CE certified), and surgical or medical face masks that are made with a form fitting pliable nose and chin band...
